Veterans Tech Support was founded in 2022 by Abigail Johnson. Abigail started her computer journey at a very early age and at 15 she started noticing that her skills were well above those of others when it came to computer and technology knowledge. She wanted to do something to help others with their skills and found the perfect opportunity at the American Legion where she was a member of the Auxillary (Blue Grass Unit 711). There she started Veterans Tech Support helping local Legionnaires and their families with technology needs. She hopes to expand the program to many other locations in the future. When she isn't busy at the Legion she also is a student at Davenport North High School and Eastern Iowa Community College where she is concurrently enrolled in pursuing her high school diploma and associate of arts at the same time. She is a varsity cheerleader, a member of the tennis team, on the student council, in the anime club, science bowl, yearbook, junior optimists international, cultural diversity club, and on the youth leadership team. She is a member of the National Society of High School Scholars and the National Society of Leadership and Success. Outside of school, she is the President of Iowa's Children of the American Revolution and the President of her society, a Grand Officer for Iowa in the International Order of Rainbow for Girls, incredibly involved in her local American Legion Auxiliary, and loves to read, write, draw and hang out with her friends. Abigail is currently looking at colleges and potential majors to see what her future may hold.
Are you passionate about what we're doing? Let us know! We are always looking for volunteers to help us make our vision a reality. We'll help you find a way to volunteer that best suits you. We're excited to have you join the team!
We have found that some Veterans are lacking the technology skills they need to survive in our ever-changing technological world. We strive to help them through the transition by providing whatever support is needed. If a Veteran or their family member needs help with anything from setting up an email or new phone, navigating the process of setting up and accessing medical portals or making online appointments, creating a new website for a business venture, or anything in between we are here to help.
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time, or spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, thank you. We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you.
